After you log in to the CheckIn App, from the ‘Open Events’ screen, tap the event where you will be scanning visitors.
Check the tickets you want the specific device you are setting up to be able to check in. Some of your scanning devices may be intended for specific ticket types only (‘VIP’ ticket holders for example). The CheckIn app will not allow unchecked ticket types to be scanned by this device.
Caution: It is important that you pay attention to this step, especially if you have volunteer staff scanning visitor tickets on your behalf, and you need strict control of who can be scanned in on a given device.
Tap ‘Next’ and then select which location this scanning device will be located. If no prior locations have been configured, then you can proceed with "Default Location".
Tap ‘Next’, then set your app security settings.
Note: These are optional settings, click next to proceed with no security settings. Security settings are most useful when the device is not being handled by an individual i.e in kiosk mode on a stand.
- Enable Advanced Security: Enable this to enforce more strict controls on when the app requests a password. These are useful when your scanning device is being used by volunteer staff, or are held by visitors.
- Device wakes from sleep or opens after closing: Enable this if you wish for the app to request a password each time the app returns from sleep or when the user navigates back in the app.
- On entering Admin screen: Enable this to require a password to access the admin settings screen.
- PIN-based security: When enabled, the app will require a PIN code instead of password (except when first logging in to the app).
Tap ‘Next’ and you have finished loading your event in CheckIn.
