Void (invalidate) a customer's free ticket(s)

Void (invalidate) a customer's free ticket(s)

Void ticket(s) when you need to invalidate free tickets so that they can no longer be used at your event.
Note: Only free tickets can be voided. Paid tickets must be managed with the refund functionality. See here for more information about processing refunds.
Ticket voiding cannot be reversed. If you accidentally void some ticket(s), then you will need to provision new tickets for the customer, share them with the customer, and communicate that their previous ticket(s) will not work at the event.

Steps to void a free ticket

To void a ticket, from your event dashboard, load the ticket sales page and search for the customer's transaction. When you have found the appropriate transaction, click the 'Transaction ID' link in the appropriate row of the table.

This will load the transaction details page. For this particular example (below), the ticket was free because the customer had used a promo code that discounted 100% of the ticket price.

You can void an individual or multiple tickets. First, select the ticket(s) you wish to void, then click the 'Void Tickets' button

When prompted, confirm that you wish to void these ticket(s) by clicking 'OK'.

Wait a few seconds until you see a green success message, and the ticket voiding will be complete.

What happens after tickets are voided

Firstly, your ticket sales dashboard will now reflect that these ticket(s) have been voided.

Secondly, the ticket(s) will not be valid for use at the event. This means that if these ticket(s) are scanned by your box office or entry staff with the EventPass CheckIn app, they will show as invalid.

Finally, the customer will receive an email notification, indicating that their tickets have been voided:
